Baltimore, MD (March 5, 2025) – Today, Mayor Brandon Scott and Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) Director Veronica P. McBeth announced that 24-hour parking enforcement will soon begin.

Beginning on March 10, 2025, BCDOT will begin 24-hour parking enforcement operations.  The 24-hour enforcement plan will help to improve parking compliance, reduce traffic congestion, allow for a better utilization of agency resources, and provide overnight enforcement operations.

“Keeping our streets safe is a 24-hour job, and moving parking enforcement operations to 24-hours is necessary to give our communities the attention they deserve,” said Mayor Brandon Scott.  “Transportation Enforcement Officers being crossed trained, overnight towing services, and more focused enforcement is going to help deliver a more effective and responsive enforcement program and give our teams the tools they need to get the job done.”

Overnight enforcement will allow agents to cite habitual offenders including commercial vehicles parked illegally in residential areas, residential permit parking violations, scofflaw offenders, and various traffic management issues.  Additionally, towable offenses such as abandoned vehicles can also be cited, as tow truck and impound resources will be available overnight as well.

BCDOT will use data-driven strategies to effectively guide safety deployments and resource allocations.  Real-time data analysis will help to identify high-risk areas, improve response times, and prioritize enforcement or intervention strategies.

Residents are encouraged to report parking issues to 311 either by phone or online service request.  The BCDOT encourages all motorists to pay close attention to parking signs and adhere to the posted restrictions.
