Weekend Road Closures for November 12-14, 2021

Weekend Road Closures and Parking Restrictions in Fell’s Point

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented this weekend in Fell’s Point.

Starting on Friday, November 12, 2021 and continuing each evening through Sunday, November 14, 2021, all through traffic will be restricted in Fell’s Point from approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. within the following geographical boundaries:

  • South of Aliceanna Street
  • North of Thames Street
  • East of S. Bond Street
  • West of S. Ann Street

Various parking restrictions will also be implemented in Fell’s Point throughout the weekend.  Visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.  Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced for everyone’s safety.  Residents with ‘Area 16’ Residential Parking Permits will be allowed to access areas closed to through traffic.

Motorists should be aware that additional road closures and parking restrictions may be implemented in the vicinity of Fell’s Point throughout the weekend if needed. 

 

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway for graffiti removal, vegetation removal and cleaning activities.

On Saturday, November 13, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway between the county line and Fayette Street from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. 

In addition, the access ramp from eastbound Northern Parkway to the southbound Jones Falls Expressway will also close on Saturday during this time for street lighting repairs with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures Along MD-295

This Saturday, temporary lane and ramp closures will be implemented along MD-295 for cleaning activities.

On Saturday, November 13, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along both northbound and southbound MD-295 between Bush Street and the Annapolis Road Bridge from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. 

In addition, the following ramps will also intermittently close on Saturday during this time with detours in effect:

  • Monroe Street exit and entrance ramps (north and southbound)
  • Westport Street exit and entrance ramps (north and southbound)
  • Manokin Street exit and entrance ramps (southbound)
  • Annapolis Road exit and entrance ramps (southbound)

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Sole of the City 10K Run

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the Sole of the City 10K Run.  The event will be held this Saturday, November 13, 2021 starting at 8:30 a.m.

The new 10K course will begin and end at Harbor Point in Harbor East.  Participants will start along Caroline Street heading north, then turn left onto Lancaster Street to merge left onto promenade at Central Avenue.  Runners will continue along the promenade and turn left on the Eastern Avenue Bridge, left on the promenade between Piers 5 & 6, around the lighthouse on Pier 5 and left on the bridge between Piers 4 & 5.  The course continues around the Aquarium and left on the promenade at the Powerplant and around to Point Villas.  Runners will exit right to Key Highway at Point Villas North, right on Key Highway, right on Light Street, right on Pratt Street, left on Patterson Avenue, right into the park across from Lombard Street, and through the park to exit at Eastern Avenue. Participants will then turn left on Patterson Park Avenue, right on Fleet Street, left on Caroline Street, right on Lancaster Street, left on Central Avenue to cross the bridge and finish at Harbor Point Circle. 

During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible.  In addition, temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns, and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Portion of Commerce Street to Close for Crane Lift

This weekend, a portion of Commerce Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, November 13 and Sunday, November 14, 2021, Commerce Street will be closed to through traffic between Lombard and Pratt Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, November 14, 2021 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
