The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend. Traffic Modifications for the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K
On Thanksgiving morning, temporary traffic modifications will be in effect for the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K which will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Waverly.
The race will start at the Weinberg Y along 33rd Street. Participants will leave the Y and turn left onto the westbound lanes of E. 33rd Street and run against the flow of traffic. Participants will follow E. 33rd Street to Lake Montebello and run counterclockwise around the lake to the turn-around point, then exit the lake loop back onto westbound E. 33rd Street. Runners will turn right at the entrance to the Weinburg Y/Stadium Place to finish.
During the event, the following roadways will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2024, from approximately 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Westbound E. 33rd Street closed from Hillen Road to Ellerslie Avenue.
- Whitman Drive closed at 33rd Street.
- Curran Drive closed between Whitman Drive and the Herring Run Trail.
Motorists should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of the participants. Drivers should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Lane Closures for CFG Bank Arena Event
This Friday, temporary lane closures will be implemented in the vicinity of the CFG Bank Arena for an arena event.
In preparation for the event, the following lane closures will be implemented from approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29th until 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024:
- Howard Street left lane closure from Camden to Pratt Streets
- Lombard Street right lane closure from Hopkins Place to Howard Street
- Baltimore Street left lane closure from Howard Street to Park Avenue
- Pratt Street left lane closure from Eutaw to Howard Streets
Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the CFG Arena should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for Charm City Lights
Starting this Saturday evening, temporary road closures and traffic modifications will be implemented for the Charm City Lights display at Druid Hill Park. The event runs nightly through Monday, January 1, 2024.
On these days, Druid Hill Park will close to non-participants at 5:00 p.m. Display attendees must enter the park near the Rawlings Conservatory entrance at Gwynns Falls Parkway and Beechwood Drive. All other park entrances will be closed nightly through Monday, January 1, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each night:
- Swann Drive – Closed at Druid Park Lake Drive
- Sisson Street / East Drive – Closed for inbound traffic into Druid Hill Park
- Gwynns Falls Parkway and Beechwood Drive – Park entrance open for light show patrons only.
Please note that all vehicles must vacate the park by 3:00 p.m. daily, except from the Rawlings Conservatory parking area, as cars will begin to be towed from the park at this time. Motorists should adhere to all posted parking restrictions to avoid being ticketed and towed.
Traffic Modifications for Weekend Activities
This weekend, temporary ramp and lane closures will be in effect for various activities.
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, the following ramp closure will be implemented (times approximate):
- Russell Street ramp from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard closure 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (graffiti removal)
On Sunday, December 1, 2024, the following lane closures will be implemented (times approximate):
- Jones Falls Expressway / I-83 northbound and southbound left lane closures between Fayette Street and the city/county line 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (cleaning activities)
Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market
This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.
On Sunday, December 1, 2024, the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect:
- Holliday Street closed from E. Pleasant Street to E. Saratoga Street
- Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
- Hillen Street center lane closure between Front Street and Fallsway
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Ravens Home Game
On Sunday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Baltimore Ravens home game against the Philadelphia Eagles which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium starting at 4:25 p.m.
In preparation for the game, the following road and lane closures will be implemented on Sunday, December 1, 2024, starting at approximately 1:30 p.m.:
- The Hamburg Street Bridge will be temporarily closed between Leaden Hall and Paca Streets for game ingress. Once the game begins, the closures will be removed until the start of the fourth quarter for egress.
- The Ostend Street Bridge will be temporarily closed between Sharp and Warner Streets for game ingress. Once the game begins, the closures will be removed until the start of the fourth quarter for egress.
- A special traffic pattern will be temporarily installed along Warner Street between the Ostend Street Bridge and Stockholm Street for ingress and railroad crossings.
- Special traffic patterns will be installed along Warner Street, Alluvion Street, Worcester Street, and Bayard Street for egress at the start of the fourth quarter.
- Hamburg Street closure between Hanover and Charles Streets for egress at the start of the fourth quarter.
- No southbound travel will be permitted along Hanover Street between Henrietta and Hamburg Streets at the start of the fourth quarter for egress. All traffic will be diverted onto Henrietta Street for east or west bound travels.
Football fans attending the game should be advised that all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium will be strictly enforced. Fans that drive to the stadium should park at commercial lots and avoid area neighborhoods. Those who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.
Transportation Enforcement Officers will be deployed in the downtown area to assist with the movement of traffic. Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the stadium should be on the watch for heavy pedestrian/vehicular traffic and possible traffic pattern changes prior to and during this event.
