Rehabilitation of the Remington Avenue Bridge Over Stony Run

Rehabilitation of the Remington Avenue Bridge Over Stony Run - TR14309

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) will be rehabilitating the Remington Avenue Bridge over Stony Run.  Planned improvements to the bridge include the installation of an overflow tunnel to improve the hydraulic capacity of the existing arch along with the rehabilitation of the bridge arch which carries Stony Run under Remington Avenue.

As of June 2022, this project is in the 80% design phase, and a community meeting was held to inform residents about the upcoming work.  Design work will be complete in 2023, and construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2023.

During construction, there will be no impact to traffic along Remington Avenue, as work will be conducted below the roadway at the existing bridge arch.  Travel lanes and sidewalks will remain open during construction and work is anticipated to be complete in 2025.

Remington Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation steps include:
• Installation of a new overflow tunnel adjacent to existing arch
• Installation of Structural Liner
     – Reinforced concrete arch liner and wing walls
     – Match stone style with new stone look finish
     – Provide riparian plantings on embankment and access road
