Neighborhood Traffic Calming Listening Sessions
Overview:
The Department of Transportation is interested in having open discussions with neighborhoods in the Druid Hill area to address what they believe are traffic issues within their community. This proactive approach will focus on smaller residential and side streets in order to slow traffic and increase safety in city neighborhoods.
The Department of Transportation will meet with neighborhoods in virtual workshops to discuss community traffic concerns, brainstorm traffic calming techniques, and identify possible solutions from our Slow Streets toolkit to improve traffic conditions.
Some of DOT's traffic calming tools include:
- Speed Humps
- Speed Table
- Signage
- Pavement Markings
- Flexposts
The Department of Transportation invites residents of the Sandtown-Winchester, Upton, and Druid Heights communities to participate in these traffic calming work groups. Residents are encouraged to participate in a minimum of three workshops, each lasting approximately 1.5 hours. The virtual workshops will be held via Webex from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the dates listed below:
