Distributed Antenna System (DAS)
The City has entered into agreements that allow vendors to install Distributed Antenna System (DAS) / small cell equipment on City-owned street light poles. DAS is a network of spatially separated antenna nodes connected to a common source via a transport medium that provides wireless (voice and data) service within a geographic area.
Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) surveys regarding radio frequency emissions and maximum exposure for humans are submitted by the vendors, as requested by the City. The MPE surveys must indicate compliance with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) standards limiting human exposure to radio frequency. The MPE surveys received to date are provided herein.
