Traffic Modifications for the Charles Street 12 Footrace

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be in effect for the Charles Street 12 Footrace which will be held on Saturday, September 03, 2016.  The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m.

The race begins in Towson along Kenilworth Drive.  Participants will run through Towson and enter the city on N. Charles Street at Gittings Avenue.  They will continue south along N. Charles Street, left on University Parkway, right on St. Paul Street, right on E. 29th Street and left back onto N. Charles Street.  Participants will turn left on West Street, left on Light Street and right on Lee Street to continue around the promenade to Pratt Street.  Runners will turn left at Market Place to finish.

In preparation for the event, the one lane of traffic will be coned off for runners along the race route with parking restrictions in effect.  In addition, Pratt Street will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, September 03, 2016 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with detours in effect.

Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
