Weekend Road Closures for June 10-12, 2022

Traffic Modifications for the St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the road closures in effect this weekend for the St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival that will be held in Greektown.

In preparation for the event, the following roadways will be closed from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10 through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • Ponca Street between Foster and Fait Avenues
  • Foster Avenue between Ponca and Quail Streets

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for HONfest 2022

This weekend, traffic modifications will be in effect for the 27th annual HONfest 2022 which will be held along W. 36th Street in Hampden on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12, 2022.

In preparation for the event, W. 36th Street will be closed to through traffic between Falls Road and Chestnut Avenue from approximatley 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  Intersections along this stretch of roadway will also be closed during the event and traffic will not be allowed to cross W. 36th Street.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Historic Pennsylvania Avenue Parade

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Historic Pennsylvania Avenue Parade which will be held at Penn North.

In preparation for the event, Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed to through traffic between North Avenue and Dolphin Street on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Charles Street Lane Closures

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Charles Street for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Charles Street between Mt. Royal Avenue and Lafayette Street from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with parking restrictions and detours in effect.  One lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

27th Street Crane Lift

On Saturday, a portion of 27th Street will be closed for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, 27th Street will be closed to through traffic between St. Paul and Charles Streets from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with parking restrictions and detours in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

N. Franklintown Road Closure

On Saturday, a portion of N. Franklintown Road will be closed for forestry work.

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, N. Franklintown Road will be closed to through traffic between Forest Park Avenue and Clifton Avenue from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with parking restrictions and detours in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Juneteenth 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the inaugural Juneteenth 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk which will be held at West Covington Park.   

In preparation for the event, the following traffic modifications will be implemented on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.:

  • Westbound Waterview Avenue will be closed to traffic between Hanover Street and Cherry Hill Road.
  • Lane closures will be implemented along the southbound Hanover Street Bridge.  One lane of through traffic will remain open for southbound traffic during the event.

Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of participants.  Drivers traveling in these areas should be on the watch for pedestrians and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

Turn-by-turn directions for the 5K Run:

  • The 5K will begin and end in the West Covington Park parking lot located at 101 W. Cromwell Street.
  • Participants will exit the parking lot onto W. Cromwell Street, then turn right onto S. Hanover Street, travel across the Hanover Street Bridge and turn right onto Waterview Avenue.
  • At Cherry Hill Road, participants will enter the Middle Branch Trail pathway, following it through the park to exit through the parking lot at Waterview Avenue.
  • Participants will turn left on Waterview Avenue, left on Hanover Street and left onto W. Cromwell Street to end in the West Covington park parking lot.

 



Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, June 12, 2022 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Paul McCartney Concert at Oriole Park at Camden Yards

This Sunday, temporary traffic modifications will be implemented for the Paul McCartney concert will be held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed on Sunday, June 12, 2022 starting at approximately 5:00 p.m.:

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets
  • Washington Boulevard from Paca to Greene Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Sunday, June 12, 2022 beginning at approximately 5:00 p.m.:

  • East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets

Motorists should be advised that all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced in the vicinity of the stadium during the event.  Patrons who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.  With a variety of transit options including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Park and Ride express bus services, and the Charm City Circulator, patrons can easily use mass transit from numerous locations in and around Baltimore.  Patrons that drive to the concert should utilize commercial parking facilities north of the stadium and avoid parking in area neighborhoods. 

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.
