The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary traffic modifications and road closures for the following events this weekend. 

Traffic Modifications and Closure for the I-95 Ramp Rehab 

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary closure and detour of the ramp from southbound I-395 to southbound I-95.

On Friday, December 16th, 2022, the following ramp will be temporarily closed to through traffic from approximately 10:00 p.m. until Monday, December 19th at 5:00 a.m.:

  • The ramp from southbound I-395 to southbound I-95

The detour will direct motorists to northbound I-95, exit onto McComas Street, then use the McComas Street on-ramp to southbound I-95.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for Crane Operations

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures in effect for crane operations.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2022, the following streets will be closed:

  • West University Parkway closed between Bishop Street and Canterbury Road12:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (24 hours)
  • Baltimore Street closed between Paca Street and Eutaw Street 6:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m.
  • Park Avenue closed between Read Street and Madison Avenue 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for Street Lighting Repairs

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary lane closures in effect for street lighting repairs.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2022, the following lanes will be closed:

  • Northbound I-83 left lane closure from Fayette Street to Guilford Avenue 5:00 a.m.  to 4:00 p.m.
  • Southbound I-83 left lane closure from North Avenue to Fayette Street 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for Roadway Cleaning of Hilton Parkway

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary lane closures in effect for roadway cleaning. 

On Saturday, December 17th, 2022, the following lanes will be closed:

  • Lane lanes of northbound and southbound Hilton Parkway 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Traffic Modifications for the Celtic Solstice Five Mile Race

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the road and lane closures that will be in effect for The Celtic Solstice Five Mile Race which will be held in Druid Hill Park. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for runners, walkers and other event participants.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2022  starting at approximately 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the following roadways will be closed to through traffic:

  • Safari Place from Beechwood Drive to Swann Drive for start and finish of race

Race Route

  • Begin south on Safari Place
  • Left on Beechwood Drive to the end and
  • Turn Left on Swann Drive
  • Turn Right on East Drive and turnaround counter-clockwise just before crossing over I-83 bridge,
  • Turn right onto Pool Service Drive
  • Turn right onto Red Road
  • Turn right onto Shop Road and continue onto Grove Rd.
  • Turn Right on Red Road
  • Turn right onto East Drive
  • Turn right on Mansion House Drive
  • Follow Mansion House Drive around (counter-clockwise)
  • Make a Right on Swann Drive
  • Make a Right on Beechwood Drive
  • Make a Right on Safari Place to finish the race

During the event, one travel lane will be coned off along the route. The Baltimore City Police & Traffic Enforcement Officers will be stationed along the route to help facilitate the movement of traffic. Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of participants.

Traffic Modifications for the Concord Community Christmas Parade

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the street closures and parking restrictions and detours in effect for the Concord Community Christmas Parade.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2022  starting at approximately 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the following roadways will be closed to through traffic:

  • Liberty Heights Avenue from North Rogers Avenue to Gwynn Oak Avenue.
  • West side of Gwynn Oak Avenue from Liberty Heights Avenue to Belle Avenue
  • Belle Avenue from Gwynn Oak Avenue to Marmon Avenue.
  • Marmon Avenue from Belle Avenue to Liberty Heights Avenue

The following parking restrictions will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Both sides Liberty Heights Ave from Marmon Ave to Gwynn Oak Ave.
  • West side Gwynn Oak Avenue from Liberty Heights Avenue to Belle Avenue (west side only will be impacted)
  • Both sides of Belle Avenue from Gwynn Oak Avenue to Marmon Avenue
  • Both sides of Marmon Avenue from Belle Avenue to Liberty Heights Avenue
  • Both sides of Chandler Avenue from Marmon Avenue to the end of the parking lot on west of Marmon Avenue

Parade Route:

  • The parade will start at the intersection of Marmon Avenue and Liberty Heights Avenue
  • Participants will proceed east on Liberty Heights Avenue towards Gwynn Oak Avenue
  • Turn Left onto Gwynn Oak Avenue and continue north against the flow of traffic towards Belle Avenue
  • Make a left turn onto Belle Avenue and proceed West
  • Continue west to Marmon Avenue
  • Make a left onto Marmon Avenue to end parade route at Marmon Avenue and Peerless Avenue

 Eastbound Detour:

  • Right turn onto North Rogers Avenue
  • Continue on North Rogers Avenue towards Gwynn Oak Avenue
  • Make a left to follow Gwynn Oak Avenue back to Liberty Heights Avenue
  • Make a right onto Liberty Heights Avenue to continue for east bound travel

Traffic Modifications for the Cookies and Caboose Event

This Saturday, a curb lane closure will be in effect for the Cookies and Caboose event which will be held at the Cahill Recreation Center.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2022, the following lane will be closed to through traffic from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

  • South side of Clifton Avenue from Holly Avenue to Lyndhurst Avenue

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, December 18th, 2022, the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street will be closed at Fallsway
  • Pleasant Street will be closed at Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street will be closed at Saratoga Street

  • Southbound I-83 left lane closure from Fayette Street County line 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
