Traffic Modifications for the Fiesta 5K Fun Run and Walk

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of  the traffic modifications in effect for the Fiesta 5K Fun Run and Walk which will be held on Saturday, May 06, 2017 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.   

The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. from Market Place at the intersection of Water Street.   Participants will proceed south on Market Place, left on Pratt Street and right on President Street to the Katyn Statue.  Runners will turn right on Aliceanna Street past the Marriott to Lancaster Street, left on Caroline Street, right on Aliceanna Street, and right on Boston Street.  Participants will turn around at Wagner Street and follow Boston Street to Fleet Street.   The course will proceed left on Fleet Street, right on President Street, left on Lombard Street to finish along Market Place at the intersection of Water Street.

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, May 06, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.:

  • Left lane closure of Southbound President Street from Fayette Street to Eastern Avenue.
  • Double lane closure along Lombard Street from President Street to Market Place. 
  • Double lane closure along Pratt Street from Gay to President Streets. 
  • Northbound Boston Street closed from Linwood Avenue to Fleet Street.  Boston Street traffic will be detoured onto Linwood Avenue.

In addition, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route.  During the event, police officers will be stationed along the race route to assist with the movement of traffic.  Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of participants.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
