Traffic Modifications for the Caribbean Carnival and Parade

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the Caribbean Carnival festival and parade.  

The Caribbean Parade will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 beginning at 1:00 p.m.  The parade begins in the 900 block of E. 33rd Street and will proceed east on 33rd Street, right on The Alameda, and across Harford Road to enter Clifton Park via St. Lo Drive. 

In preparation for the parade, the following streets will be closed on Saturday, July 15, 2017 with parking restrictions in effect:

  • Eastbound E. 33rd Street between Ellerslie and Ednor Avenues from 10:30 a.m. until clear.  One lane of traffic will remain open during parade formation.
  • Eastbound E. 33rd Street between Ellerslie Avenue and The Alameda from 12:45 p.m. until clear
  • Southbound The Alameda between E. 33rd Street and Harford Road from 12:45 p.m. until clear

All streets along the parade route will be reopened by 5:00 p.m.

In addition to the parade, the Caribbean Festival will be held in Clifton Park on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16, 2017.  In preparation for the festival, St. Lo Drive will be closed to through traffic between Indian Lane and Sinclair Lane on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. each day with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
