Portion of Mount Royal Avenue to Close for Light Rail Maintenance Work

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the road closures in effect for maintenance work being done to the Light RailLink system by the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA).

Following the conclusion of Artscape this weekend, Mount Royal Avenue will remain closed to through traffic between Lanvale and Oliver Streets so that necessary rail replacement and track maintenance can be performed.  Detours will be in effect during this time and signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the closure.  This portion of Mount Royal Avenue is expected to be closed until approximately August 03, 2017.  Local traffic will be allowed along Mount Royal Avenue past McMechen Street during this time.

Northbound Mount Royal Avenue traffic will be detoured right on Charles Street and left on North Avenue back to Mount Royal Avenue.

Motorists heading southbound on Mount Royal Avenue will be detoured right on McMechen Street, left on Eutaw Place, left on Dolphin Street, and left on Cathedral Street back to Mount Royal Avenue.
