Traffic Modifications for the 2018 Greater Baltimore Kidney Walk

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advice motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the 2018 Greater Baltimore Kidney Walk which will be held on Sunday, May 06, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.   

Registration for the event begins at 9:00 a.m. and the walks kick off at 10:00 a.m. from the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Center “Y” at 900 E. 33rd Street.  For the 3 mile walk, participants will leave the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Center “Y” and head east on E. 33rd Street, cross Hillen Road and turn left into the entrance of Lake Montebello.  The course continues around the lake to exit back onto E. 33rd Street and back to the “Y” to finish.

 For the 1 Mile Walk participants will exit the “Y’’ and turn left onto E. 33rd Street, then left on Ednor Road, left on E. 36th Street and left onto Ellerslie Avenue.  The course continues left back onto E. 33rd Street, to re-enter the “Y” to finish.

During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible.  Baltimore City Police officers will be stationed along the race route to assist with the movement of traffic.  Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of participants.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
