Traffic Modifications for the Charles Street 12 Footrace

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be in effect for the Charles Street 12 Footrace which will be held on Saturday, September 01, 2018.  The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m.

The race begins in Towson along Kenilworth Drive.  Participants will run through Towson and enter the city on N. Charles Street at Gittings Avenue.  They will continue south along N. Charles Street, left on Lee Street, right on Light Street, left on Key Highway, and left on the Key Highway extension to finish at Tide Point in front of Under Armour.

In preparation for the event, the one lane of traffic will be coned off for runners along the race route with parking restrictions in effect.  Citizens should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Howard Street Crane Operation

On Saturday, September 01, 2018 temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Howard Street for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, September 01, 2018 a double lane closure will be implemented along Howard Street between Preston and John Street from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
