Traffic Modifications for the Race For Our Kids 10K/5K Runs

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the Race For Our Kids 10K/5K runs.  The events will be held in Mount Washington on Sunday, September 16, 2018.

The 10K course will begin at 8:00 a.m. and participants will start on Pimlico Road at the intersection of Ken Oak Road.  Runners will head north on Pimlico Road, left on Cross Country Boulevard and right on Fallstaff.  Participants will turn right on Westbrook Road and left on Labyrinth Road and turn around near Hatton Road.  Runners will follow Labyrinth Road and turn right on Westbrook Road, left on Fallstaff Road and left on Cross Country Boulevard.  Participants will bear right on Greenspring Avenue to finish near the intersection of Northern Parkway.

The 5K Run will begin at 8:25 a.m. at Pimlico and Ken Oak Roads.  Participants will travel north on Pimlico Road and left on Cross Country Boulevard to Pinkney Road where they will turn around and run back to Greenspring Avenue.  Runners will turn right on Greenspring Avenue and head south to the finish line just before the intersection of Northern Parkway.

During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race routes wherever possible.  Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Temporary Road Closures for the BSO’s Annual Gala Celebration

This weekend, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s annual Gala Celebration which will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018.  In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic with parking restrictions in effect:

Preston Street is now closed between Cathedral and Howard Streets and will reopen by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018.

Park Avenue from Cathedral Street to the Garage entrance will be converted to a 2-way traffic pattern on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight for event parking.

Detour signs will be posted in the area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Fayette Street Crane Operation

On Saturday, a portion of Fayette Street will be closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, September 15, 2018 Fayette Street will be closed to through traffic between Greene Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect, weather permitting.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Calvert Street Crane Operation

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Calvert Street for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, September 15, 2018 a double lane closure will be implemented along Calvert Street between Redwood and Baltimore Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weather permitting.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

York Road Crane Operation

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of York Road for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, September 15, 2018 a double lane closure will be implemented along York Road between Bellona Avenue to Markland Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. weather permitting.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Falls Road Crane Operation

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Falls Road for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, September 15, 2018 a single lane closure will be implemented along Falls Road between 36th and 37th Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. weather permitting.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Eastern Avenue Crane Operation

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Eastern Avenue for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, September 15, 2018 Eastern Avenue will be reduced to one single lane of through traffic between Eaton and Grundy Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weather permitting.  Traffic flaggers will direct alternating traffic through the work zone during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
