Weekend Road Closures for May 24-26, 2019

Traffic Modifications for the Festival of India 

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications for the Festival of India which will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Inner Harbor’s McKeldin Square.  

Starting at 12:30 p.m., a parade will kick off from the intersection of Key Highway and Light Street.  Participants will proceed north along Light Street and end at McKeldin Square, where the festival will be held.  

In preparation for the event, the following lane closures will be implemented:

  • Southbound Light Street left lane closure at McKeldon Square for set-up on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Triple lane closure along Key Highway and Light Street on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Southbound Light Street left lane closure at McKeldon Square for breakdown on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

During the procession, temporary traffic stops may be implemented for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity may experience delays and should consider using alternate routes. 

 

Traffic Modification for the Latin America Hispanic Cultural Festival 

On Sunday, May 26, 2019 a portion of Linwood Avenue will be closed for the Latin America Hispanic Cultural Festival which will be held in Patterson Park. 

In preparation for the event, Linwood Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Eastern Avenue and Pratt Street from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians attending the festival and should use alternate routes.
