Weekend Road Closures for July 12-14, 2019

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Washington One Carnival and Parade

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the Baltimore Washington One Carnival and Parade.  The carnival will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from noon to 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from noon to 9:00 p.m.  In addition, a parade will be held on Saturday which kicks off in Waverly at 1:00 p.m. and is expected to last about 4 hours.

The parade begins along E. 33rd Street at Ellerslie Avenue and will proceed east on 33rd Street, right on The Alameda and across Harford Road ending at the entrance to Clifton Park via St. Lo Drive. 

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic:

  • Southside E. 33rd Street at Ellerslie Avenue – Saturday, July 13 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Westside The Alameda at E. 33rd Street – Saturday, July 13 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm  
  • St. Lo Drive at Harford Road – Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm
  • St. Lo Drive at Sinclair Lane – Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm (access to event parking will be maintained).
  • Indian Drive at Belair Road – Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm (access to golf course will be maintained)

The following parking restrictions will also be implemented:

  • Southside E. 33rd Street from Ellerslie Avenue to The Alameda – Saturday, July 13 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Westside The Alameda from Kirk Avenue to Harford Road – Saturday, July 13 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm  
  • Eastside Harford Road from Montpelier Street to Hillen Road – Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm
  • Both sides St. Lo Drive from Harford Road to Sinclair Lane – Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 8:00 am to 11:59 pm
  • Both sides Indian Drive from St. Lo Drive to Belair Road – Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from 8:00 am to 11:59 pm

Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented during the parade for the safety of parade participants.  Citizens should expect delays if traveling in this vicinity and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

N. Charles Street Resurfacing

This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of N. Charles Street for resurfacing activities.

On Saturday, July 13, 2019 temporary lane closures will be implemented along N. Charles Street between Coldspring Lane and Homeland Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Then on Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along this same stretch of N. Charles Street from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Jones Falls Expressway Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway for storm drain cleaning activities.

On Saturday, July 13, 2019 a left lane closure will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Fayette Street and the county line from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Citizens should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns if traveling in this vicinity.

 

Washington Boulevard Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of Washington Boulevard will be closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Washington Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Callender and Poppleton Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with detours in effect. 

Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Patterson Park Avenue Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of Patterson Park Avenue will be closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Patterson Park Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Monument and McElderry Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with detours in effect. 

Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

E. 34th Street Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of E. 34th Street will be closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, July 13, 2019, E. 34th Street will be closed to through traffic between St. Paul and Charles Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours in effect. 

Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Frederick Street Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of Frederick Street will be closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Frederick Street will be closed to through traffic between Baltimore and Water Streets from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours in effect. 

Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Crane Operation at Intersection of Baltimore and Smallwood Streets

This Saturday, the intersection of Baltimore and Smallwood Streets will be closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, July 13, 2019, the intersection of Baltimore and Smallwood Streets will be closed to traffic in all directions from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours in effect. 

Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
