Traffic Modifications for the Color Run

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the Color Run which will be held on Saturday, October 05, 2019.   The first race begins at 9:00 a.m. with additional waves starting every few minutes until 9:45 a.m.

The race will be held primarily on the grounds of Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, beginning on Lot B and ending on Lot C.  In preparation for the races, the following streets will be closed to through traffic:

Hamburg Street from Leadenhall to Russell Streets - 6:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or clear

Lee Street from Russell Street to Ramp D - 6:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or clear

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Jones Falls Expressway Lane Closures

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of the southbound Jones Falls Expressway for street lighting work.

On Saturday, October 05, 2019, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway between Coldspring Lane and Falls Road from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

McElderry Street Temporary Closure

This weekend, a portion of McElderry Street will be temporarily closed for a crane lift operation. 

Starting at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 05, 2019 and continuing until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 06, 2019, McElderry Street will be closed to through traffic between Washington and Wolfe Streets.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Race for Our Kids

On Sunday, October 06, 2019 traffic modifications will be in effect for the Race for Our Kids 10K and 5K footraces which kick off in Druid Hill Park.

The 5K race begins at 8:00 a.m. from Mansion House Drive and Beechwood Drive and will be run entirely in the park.

The 10K race will start at 8:25 a.m. along Beachwood Drive, east of Safari Place.   Participants will  turn left onto Mansion House Drive and continue through the park to East Drive/Wyman Park Drive, then turn right onto Sisson Street, left on W.  24th Street, right on Hampden Avenue and left onto W. 23rd Street.  The course proceeds left onto N. Howard Street, left back onto Wyman Park Drive, right on Pool Service Drive, right on Red Road, right on Shop A Road, right back onto Red Road, then right on East Drive to Finish on Beechwood Drive.

During the event, one lane of through traffic will be closed for the runners along the race route where possible. Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the parade route for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity are encouraged to watch for pedestrians and use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Sowebo Landmark 5K Race

On Sunday, October 06, 2019 traffic modifications will be in effect for the Sowebo Landmark 5K Footrace which kicks off at 9:00 a.m.

The race starts near historic Union Square Park on Hollins Street at Stricker Street. Runners will proceed east on Hollins Street, right on Schroeder Street, left on Lemon Street, right on Poppleton Street and right on Pratt Street.  The race proceeds left through the B & O Railroad Museum Service Entrance, through the museum grounds and left on Arlington Street, across the railroad tracks and right onto James Street.  Participants will turn left on Bayard Street to enter Carroll Park at the Washington Boulevard entrance and follow marked trails in the park up to Mount Clare Mansion and back out to turn right on Bayard Street.  Runners will turn left onto James Street, left on Arlington Avenue, and left onto Hollins Street to finish at the HL Mencken House.

In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be implemented on Sunday, October 06, 2019:

  • Gilmore Street – Lombard Street to Hollins Street (Registration)
  • Hollins Street – Gilmore Street to Stricker Street (Formation)

In addition, one lane of traffic will be closed for the runners along the race route where possible. Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the parade route for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity are encouraged to watch for pedestrians and use alternate routes.

 

Hilton Parkway Lane Closures

On Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Hilton Parkway for maintenance work.  On Sunday, October 06, 2019, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along both northbound and southbound Hilton Parkway between North Avenue and Edmondson Avenue from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
