Weekend Closure of the Waterview Avenue Bridge

Overnight lane closures along I-295 will also be implemented starting March 24th

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that the Waterview Avenue Bridge will be closed this weekend for construction work. 

Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020, the Waterview Avenue Bridge at Annapolis Road will be closed to through traffic with detours in effect, weather permitting.  The bridge will remain closed until approximately 5:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020. 

Following the weekend bridge closure, overnight lane closures will then be implemented along I-295 beginning on the evening of Tuesday, March 24, 2020.  One lane of through traffic will be closed along both northbound and southbound I-295 in the vicinity of the Annapolis Road Bridge each evening through April 2, 2020 at the following times:

• Sunday through Thursday evenings – 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
• Friday and Saturday evenings – 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.

These activities are being done in preparation for the upcoming 18-month closure of the northern half of the Waterview Avenue Bridge for full demolition and reconstruction as part of the I-295 Triple Bridges Replacement Project.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should plan additional travel time, as the reduction of travel lanes may cause delays.  Drivers should also be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes.  

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of the northbound Jones Falls Expressway (JFX) for streetlighting work. 

On Saturday, March 21, 2020, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between North Avenue and Northern Parkway from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Hawkins Point Road Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of northbound Hawkins Point Road for litter cleaning.

On Saturday, March 21, 2020 temporary right lane closures will be implemented along northbound Hawkins Point Road between Fort Armistead Road and Chemical Road from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for vehicular traffic during this time.

St. Paul Street Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of the lower level St. Paul Street for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, March 21, 2020 temporary lane closures will be implemented along the lower level of St. Paul Street between Saratoga and Lexington Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for vehicular traffic during this time.

Greene Street Lane Closures

This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Greene Street for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 2020 temporary lane closures will be implemented along Greene Street between Lombard and Redwood Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.  At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for vehicular traffic during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Lane Closures Along I-295

This Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along I-295 for maintenance work.  On Sunday, March 22, 2020 temporary right lane closures will be implemented along northbound and southbound I-295 between Russell Street and the county line from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  In addition, the Westport, Annapolis, Monroe and I-695 Ramps will also intermittently close during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

Lane Closures Along Holabird Avenue

This Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Holabird Avenue for roadway repair work. 

Starting at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2020 and continuing until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020 temporary lane closures will be implemented along Holabird Avenue between Poncabird Pass and Broening Highway.  At least one lane of through traffic will remain open in each direction for vehicular traffic during this time.
