Weekend Road Closures for May 8-10, 2020

Hanover Street Bridge Closure Scheduled For This Weekend, May 9-10, 2020

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will temporarily close this Saturday for maintenance and striping work. 

Starting at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 09, 2020 the Hanover Street Bridge / Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed to through traffic in both directions between Waterview Avenue and Cromwell Street with detours in effect, weather permitting.  The bridge will remain closed until approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2020.

Variable message signs will be deployed in the area to alert motorists of the closure.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

During the closure, citizens should utilize Russell Street/MD-295 as an alternate route: 

Southbound Hanover Street detour:

Southbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured south on I-95, south on MD-295, south on Waterview Avenue via the Annapolis Road exit, then back to Hanover Street.

Northbound Hanover Street detour:

Northbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured west on Waterview Avenue, north on MD-295, east on Hamburg Street back to Hanover Street. 

 

Greene Street Lane Closures

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of S. Greene Street this Saturday for roadway repair work. 

On Saturday, May 09, 2020, two lanes of S. Greene Street will be closed between Baltimore and Lombard Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

E. Redwood Street Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of E. Redwood Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, May 09, 2020, E. Redwood Street will be closed to through traffic between Calvert and South Streets from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Preston Street Lane Closures

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Preston Street this Saturday for BGE work. 

On Saturday, May 09, 2020, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Preston Street between Broadway and Oliver Street from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Franklintown Road Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of S. Franklintown Road will temporarily close for BGE work.

On Saturday, May 09, 2020, S. Franklintown Road will be closed to through traffic between Baltimore and Pratt Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

E. Mount Royal Avenue Temporary Closure

On Sunday, a portion of E. Mount Royal Avenue will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Sunday, May 10, 2020, E. Mount Royal Avenue will be closed to through traffic between St. Paul and Charles Streets from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
