Weekend Road Closures for July 17-19, 2020

Road Closures and Parking Restrictions in Fells Point to Allow for Al Fresco Dining

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that road closures and parking restrictions have been implemented in Fells Point to allow for al fresco dining.

At this time and continuing through Monday, September 7, 2020 the following roadways will be closed to through traffic in Fells Point:

  • Thames Street from the southbound lane of Broadway to the west side of The Pendry
  • Northbound lane of S. Broadway between Thames and Lancaster Streets

In addition, various parking restrictions will be implemented along Thames Street, Broadway and other areas of Fells Point.  Visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.  Residential Permit Parking (RPP) will be strictly enforced throughout the weekend in Fells Point (RPP Area 16) and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed

Fells Point Residential Permit Parking in Area 16 will be enforced along the following roadways:

• Aliceanna Street     • Broadway

• Fleet Street              • Shakespeare Street

• Ann Street               • Thames Street

• Lancaster Street     • Dallas Street

• Bethel Street           • Wolfe Street

• Register Street        • Durham Street

• Bond Street             • Fell Street

A passenger loading zone will be established in the 800 block of S. Broadway (southbound) north of Shakespeare Street to allow for customer order pick-ups and delivery vehicles.  Local access will be maintained for authorized vehicles such as refuse and delivery trucks, Zip Cars, etc.  In addition, parking will be allowed along the 800 block of S. Broadway each Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Fells Point Farmers Market vendors.

Motorists traveling in historic Fells Point should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Weekend Road Closures in Canton July 17-19, 2020

This weekend, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented in Canton to allow for outdoor dining.

Starting on Friday, July 17, 2020 and continuing daily through Sunday, July 19, 2020, the following roadways will be closed in Canton from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect:

  • O’Donnell Street (both the east and west sides) between Linwood and Potomac Streets
  • Curley Street from O’Donnell Street east and west to the alleyways

Curb lane closures will also be implemented along the following roadways during these times:

  • S. Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Elliot Streets
  • S. Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets
  • S. Potomac Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets

Canton visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.  Motorists traveling in this vicinty should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Temporary Closure of Charles Street on Friday, July 17, 2020

This Friday, a portion of Charles Street will temporarily close for roadway art painting. 

On Friday, July 17, 2020 Charles Street will be closed to through traffic between 21st and 23rd Streets from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 8:00 p.m. (when painting is complete) with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  Detour signs will be posted in the area to alert motorists of the closure.

During this time, the Charm City Circulator will be detoured around the closure area on Charles Street and stops at 22nd Street and 25th Street temporarily will not be serviced.  For additional information about the Charm City Circulator, visit CharmCityCirculator.com.

Temporary Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of the southbound Jones Falls Expressway for street lighting work.  On Saturday, July 17, 2020, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway between Guilford Avenue and Fayette Street from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weather permitting.  

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Utility Work at Intersection of Preston and Caroline Streets

This Saturday, the intersection of Preston and Caroline Streets will temporarily close for BGE gas line upgrades.  On Saturday, July 17, 2020, the following streets will be closed to through traffic from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours in effect, weather permitting:

  • Preston Street between Eden and Caroline Streets
  • Caroline Street between Biddle and Hoffman Streets 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

N. Warwick Avenue Traffic Flagging Operation

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of N. Warwick Avenue for a crane operation.  On Saturday, July 17, 2020, temporary lane closures will be implemented along N. Warwick Avenue between Windsor and W. North Avenues from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.  A traffic flagging operation will be in effect during this time to direct motorists through the work zone.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Wilson Street Traffic Flagging Operation

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Wilson Street for a crane operation.  On Saturday, July 17, 2020, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Wilson Street between Brunt and Division Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.  A traffic flagging operation will be in effect during this time to direct motorists through the work zone.
