Weekend Road Closures for August 14-16, 2020

Portion of Loch Raven Drive at Loch Raven Reservoir is Now Closed to Traffic

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of Loch Raven Drive in Baltimore County is now closed to through traffic.

At this time, Loch Raven Drive is closed between Morgan Mill Road and Providence Road at Loch Raven Reservoir.  The roadway is closed due to a failed culvert.  Engineers with the Department of Public Works are currently working with a consultant on a repair plan.  At this point we do not have an estimate for when the roadway will be reopened.

Closure and detour signs have been posted in the area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Portion of Westbound Franklintown Road to Remain Closed For Approximately Two Months

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists that a portion of westbound Franklintown Road is temporarily closed for repair work.

At this time, westbound Franklintown Road is closed to through traffic between Winans Way and Forest Park Avenue with detours in effect.  Variable message and detour signs are posted in the area to alert motorists of the closure. 

This portion of westbound Franklintown Road is expected to remain closed for approximately two months until repairs are complete.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Road Closures and Parking Restrictions in Fells Point to Allow for Al Fresco Dining

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists that road closures and parking restrictions have been implemented in Fells Point to allow for al fresco dining.

At this time and continuing through Monday, September 7, 2020 the following roadways will be closed to through traffic in Fells Point:

  • Thames Street from the southbound lane of Broadway to the west side of The Pendry
  • Northbound lane of S. Broadway between Thames and Lancaster Streets

In addition, various parking restrictions will be implemented along Thames Street, Broadway and other areas of Fells Point.  Visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.  Residential Permit Parking (RPP) will be strictly enforced throughout the weekend in Fells Point (RPP Area 16) and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed

Fells Point Residential Permit Parking in Area 16 will be enforced along the following roadways:

• Aliceanna Street     • Broadway

• Fleet Street              • Shakespeare Street

• Ann Street               • Thames Street

• Lancaster Street     • Dallas Street

• Bethel Street           • Wolfe Street

• Register Street        • Durham Street

• Bond Street             • Fell Street

A passenger loading zone will be established in the 800 block of S. Broadway (southbound) north of Shakespeare Street to allow for customer order pick-ups and delivery vehicles.  Local access will be maintained for authorized vehicles such as refuse and delivery trucks, Zip Cars, etc.  In addition, parking will be allowed along the 800 block of S. Broadway each Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Fells Point Farmers Market vendors.

Motorists traveling in historic Fells Point should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Cross Street Closure in Federal Hill to Allow for Outdoor Dining

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists that a portion of Cross Street has been closed in Federal Hill to allow for outdoor dining.

At this time, the north side of S. Cross Street is closed to through traffic between Light and Charles Streets with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

Motorists traveling in historic Federal Hill should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Weekend Road Closures in Canton

This weekend, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented in Canton to allow for outdoor dining.

Starting on Friday, August 14, 2020 and continuing through Sunday, August 16, 2020, the following roadways will be closed in Canton from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. each day with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • O’Donnell Street (both the east and west sides) between Linwood and Potomac Streets
  • Curley Street from O’Donnell Street east and west to the alleyways

Curb lane closures will also be implemented along the following roadways during these times:

  • S. Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Elliot Streets
  • S. Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets
  • S. Potomac Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets

Canton visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

North Avenue Ramp Closures This Saturday

This Saturday, temporary ramp closures will be implemented along a portion of the Jones Falls Expressway and North Avenue.

On Saturday, August 15, 2020, the following ramps to and from North Avenue along the Jones Falls Expressway will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • The North Avenue exit ramp from the southbound Jones Falls Expressway
  • The entrance ramp to the northbound Jones Falls Expressway from North Avenue

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Baltimore Street Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Baltimore Street for a crane operation.  On Saturday, August 15, 2020, lane closures will be implemented along Baltimore Street between Pine and Greene Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Calvert Street Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Calvert Street for a crane operation.  On Saturday, August 15, 2020, lane closures will be implemented along Calvert Street between Chase and Biddle Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Preston Street Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of Preston Street will be closed for BGE gas line repairs.  On Saturday, August 15, 2020, Preston Street will be closed to through traffic between Gay and Biddle Streets from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  In addition, the intersection of Preston and Caroline Streets will also temporarily close during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Water Street Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of Water Street will be closed for a crane operation.  On Saturday, August 15, 2020, Water Street will be closed to through traffic between Light and Grant Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
