Memorial Day Weekend Road Closures for May 28-31, 2021

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway this weekend for street lighting work. 

On Saturday, May 29, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Cold Spring Lane and the county line from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.  

Then on Sunday, May 30, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along this same stretch of the southbound Jones Falls Expressway from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Temporary Lane Closures Along Hilton Parkway

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Hilton Parkway for cleaning activities. 

On Saturday, May 29, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along both northbound and southbound Hilton Parkway between Edmondson Avenue and North Avenue from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Temporary Lane Closures Along Ponca Street

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Ponca Street for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, May 29, 2021, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Ponca Street between Interstate Avenue and Poncabird Pass from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Lane Closures Along MD-295

This Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along MD-295 for cleaning activities. 

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, temporary lane closures will be implemented along north and southbound MD-295 between Bush Street and Annapolis Road from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.  In addition, intermittent ramp closures will be implemented throughout the day with detours in effect, including:

  • Westport entrance and exit ramps
  • Annapolis Road entrance and exit ramps
  • Monroe Street ramps to northbound and southbound MD-295
  • Waterview Avenue exit ramp from northbound MD-295

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, May 30, 2021 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for Baltimore Orioles Home Game on Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021, temporary traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Orioles home game against the Minnesota Twins which will be held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

In preparation for Monday afternoon’s game, the following streets will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2021 starting at approximately 10:00 a.m.:

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Lee Street from Ramp D to Russell Street
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets
  • Washington Boulevard from Paca to Greene Streets
  • Left lane closure along northbound Russell Street from Lee to Pratt Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Monday, May 31, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m.:

  • East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.
