Weekend Road Closures for July 16-18, 2021

Weekend Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway throughout the weekend for concrete jersey barrier repairs.

Starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 a double left lane closure will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway, along with a single left lane closure along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Cold Spring Lane and the county line.  These lane closures will remain in effect until approximately 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021 as concrete repair work is completed.

In addition to the closures listed above, a right lane closure will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway on Saturday, July 17, 2021 between Fayette Street and Cold Spring Lane from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for cleaning activities and streetlighting work.  The Madison Street entrance ramp to the northbound Jones Falls Expressway will also temporarily close during this time.

Then on Sunday, July 18, 2021, a right lane closure will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway between North and Maryland Avenues from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The Falls Road and North Avenue entrance ramps to the southbound Jones Falls Expressway will also close intermittently during this time.

Motorists traveling in these vicinities this weekend should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Weekend Road Closures and Parking Restrictions in Fells Point

This weekend, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented in Fells Point.

Starting on Friday, July 16, 2021 and continuing each evening through Sunday, July 18, 2021, all through traffic will be restricted in Fells Point from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. within the following geographical boundaries:

  • South of Aliceanna Street
  • North of Thames Street
  • East of S. Bond Street
  • West of S. Ann Street

In addition, the following parking restrictions will also be implemented in Fells Point on Friday, July 16 through Sunday, July 18, 2021 each day from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.:

  • Broadway from Aliceanna to Lancaster Streets
  • Broadway from Shakespeare to Thames Streets
  • 1600-1800 blocks of Thames Street
  • 1600-1700 blocks of Lancaster Street
  • 1600 block of Shakespeare Street

Fells Point visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.  Residential Permit Parking (RPP) will be strictly enforced throughout the weekend in Fells Point (RPP Area 16) and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed

Fells Point Residential Permit Parking in Area 16 will be enforced along the following roadways:

• Aliceanna Street     • Broadway

• Fleet Street              • Shakespeare Street

• Ann Street               • Thames Street

• Lancaster Street     • Dallas Street

• Bethel Street           • Wolfe Street

• Register Street        • Durham Street

• Bond Street             • Fell Street

To ensure that Fells Point residents have access to parking near their homes, residents will be allowed to access areas closed to through traffic with their Area 16 Residential Parking permits.

Motorists should be aware that additional road closures and parking restrictions may be implemented in the vicinity of Fells Point throughout the weekend if needed.  Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

St. Paul Street Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of St. Paul Street for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, a double lane closure will be implemented along St. Paul Street between Center and Saratoga Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

McElderry Street Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of McElderry Street will be closed for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, McElderry Street will be closed to through traffic between N. Collington and N. Madeira Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Redwood Street Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of Redwood Street will be closed for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, Redwood Street will be closed to through traffic between Calvert and South Streets from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Clay Street Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of Clay Street will be closed for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, Clay Street will be closed to through traffic between Sharp and Liberty Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, July 18, 2021 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
