Weekend Road Closures for October 22-24, 2021

Weekend Road Closures and Parking Restrictions in Fells Point

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented in Fells Point this weekend.

Starting on Friday, October 22, 2021 and continuing each evening through Sunday, October 24, 2021, all through traffic will be restricted in Fells Point from approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. within the following geographical boundaries:

  • South of Aliceanna Street
  • North of Thames Street
  • East of S. Bond Street
  • West of S. Ann Street

Various parking restrictions will be implemented in Fells Point throughout the weekend.  Fells Point visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas. 

Residential Permit Parking will be strictly enforced throughout the weekend in Fells Point (RPP Area 16) and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed.  Fells Point Residential Permit Parking in Area 16 will be enforced along the following roadways:

• Aliceanna Street     • Broadway

• Fleet Street              • Shakespeare Street

• Ann Street               • Thames Street

• Lancaster Street     • Dallas Street

• Bethel Street           • Wolfe Street

• Register Street        • Durham Street

• Bond Street             • Fell Street

To ensure that residents have access to parking near their homes, residents will be allowed to access areas closed to through traffic with their ‘Area 16’ Residential Parking permits.

Motorists should be aware that additional road closures and parking restrictions may be implemented in the vicinity of Fells Point throughout the weekend if needed.  Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway for streetlighting work.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Madison Street and the county line from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.  The Madison Street /Fallsway access ramp to the northbound Jones Falls Expressway will also be closed during this time.

Also on Saturday, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway between the county line and Fayette Street from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for gutter cleaning activities. 

In addition, the St. Paul Street/Mount Royal Avenue exit ramp from the southbound Jones Falls Expressway will close on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for forestry work with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures Along MD-295

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along MD-295 for cleaning activities.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along northbound and southbound MD-295 between Hamburg Street and the county line from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Road Closure for the Halloween Lantern Parade in Patterson Park

This Saturday, a portion of Linwood Avenue will temporarily close for the Halloween Lantern Parade in Patterson Park.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, Linwood Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Eastern Avenue and Pratt Street from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

N. Charles Street Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of N. Charles Street for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, temporary lane closures will be implemented along N. Charles Street between E. Mulberry and E. Hamilton Streets from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  One lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists through the work zone during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Portion of S. Collington Avenue to Close for Crane Lift

This Saturday, a portion of S. Collington Avenue will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, S. Collington Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Eastern Avenue and Bank Street from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

Portion of Kenmore Road to Close for Crane Lift

This Saturday, a portion of Kenmore Road will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, Kenmore Road will be closed to through traffic between W. Melrose Avenue and Castlewood Road from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

Portion of Wilson Street to Close for Crane Lift

This Saturday, a portion of Wilson Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, Wilson Street will be closed to through traffic between Eutaw Place and Bolton Street from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, October 24, 2021 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Traffic Modifications for the Race For Our Kids 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk

This Sunday, October 24, 2021, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Race For Our Kids 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk which will be held at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.  The 10K Run begins at 8:00 a.m. with the 5K Run and 1-Mile Family Fun Walk beginning at 8:25 a.m.

The 10K race kicks off from Beechwood Drive and proceeds left on Swann Drive, left on Mansion House Drive, left on East Dive crossing over the Jones Falls Expressway onto Wyman Park Drive, right on Sisson Street, left on W. 24th Street, right on Hamden Avenue and left on W. 23rd Street.  The course proceeds left on N. Howard Street, left on Wyman Park Drive crossing back over the Jones Falls Expressway, right on Pool Service Drive, right on Red Road, right on Shop Road (which becomes Grove Road), right on Red Road, right on East Drive, left on Swann Drive, and right on Beechwood Drive to the finish line.

During the event, one lane of traffic will be coned off for participants wherever possible along the race route.  In addition, commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the walk route for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk which kicks off from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg YMCA at Stadium Place at approximately 9:00 a.m.

The walk begins at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg YMCA located at Stadium Place and will proceed right on E. 33rd Street, right on Ellerslie Avenue, right on E. 36th Street, right on Ednor Road, and left on E. 35th Street.   Participants will then turn right on Hillen Road and left to Lake Montebello to follow the lake around to exit on E. 33rd Street.  Walkers will turn right onto Ednor Road and left on Lakeside Avenue to finish at the YMCA parking lot.

During the event, one lane of traffic will be coned off for participants wherever possible along the walk route.  In addition, commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented along the walk route for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

The following streets may be closed or temporarily stopped during the event on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

  • 33rd Street from Ellerslie Avenue to Hillen Road (Westbound)
  • Ellerslie Avenue from 33rd to 36th Streets (Northbound)
  • 36th Street from Ellerslie Avenue to Ednor Road (Eastbound)
  • Ednor Road from 33rd to 36th Streets (Both North and South)
  • 35th Street from Ednor Road to Hillen Road (Eastbound)
  • Hillen Road from Argonne Drive to 33rd Street (Southbound)
  • Loch Raven from 33rd to 35th Streets (Both North and South)
  • The Alameda from 33rd to 35th Streets (Both North and South)

 

Traffic Modifications for Sunday’s Ravens Game at M&T Bank Stadium

On Sunday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Baltimore Ravens football game against the Cincinnati Bengals which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the game, the following roadways will be closed to through traffic at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021:

  • Northbound Russell Street Service Drive (which runs alongside M&T Bank Stadium) between West and W. Hamburg Streets
  • W. Ostend Street Bridge between Warner and Sharp Streets
  • W. Hamburg Street between Russell and Leadenhall Streets
  • Hamburg Street west of Russell Street

In addition, various parking restrictions will be implemented in the vicinity of the stadium.  Fans attending the game should be advised that all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced for everyone’s safety.  Patrons choosing to drive to the stadium should park at commercial lots and avoid area neighborhoods.  Vehicles parked in violation are subject to being ticketed and towed.  Fans that do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation including the Metro SubwayLink, Light RailLink or the Charm City Circulator.  

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for heavy pedestrian/vehicular traffic and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
