Weekend Road Closures for May 27-29, 2022

Eastbound W. University Parkway Temporary Closure

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of eastbound W. University Parkway will close for the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship.

On Friday, May 27, 2022, eastbound W. University Parkway will be closed to through traffic between San Martin Drive/39th Street and Canterbury Road from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. with detours in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway for street lighting work and cleaning activities.

On Saturday, May 28, 2022, the following temporary lane and ramp closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:

  • Right lane closures along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Northern Parkway and the county line.
  • The entrance ramp from Northern Parkway to the northbound Jones Falls Expressway will be closed with detours in effect.
  • Right lane closures along the southbound Jones Falls Expressway between Coldspring Lane and Guilford Avenue.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Festival of India

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Festival of India and parade which will be held at the Inner Harbor’s McKeldin Square. 

Starting at 12:00 p.m., the parade will kick off from the intersection of Key Highway and Covington Street.  Participants will proceed west along Key Highway, south along Light Street, and will finish at McKeldin Square, where the festival will be held until 7:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the event, the following traffic modifications will be implemented:

  • Southbound Light Street left lane closure between Pratt and Conway Streets from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 through 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
  • Covington Street closed between Cross Street and Key Highway from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
  • Lane closures along the parade route during the procession from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Eastbound Conway Street closed at Light Street during the parade procession from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured north on Charles Street and east on Pratt Street during this time.

During the procession, temporary traffic stops may be implemented for the safety of parade participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity may experience delays and should consider using alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Sowebo Art & Music Festival

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Sowebo Art & Music Festival which will be held at the historic Hollins Market. 

In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be implemented from 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022:

  • Hollins Street between Carey and Schroeder Streets
  • S. Carrollton Street between W. Baltimore and W. Lombard Streets
  • S. Arlington Street between W. Baltimore and W. Lombard Streets

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, May 29, 2022 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
