Portion of N. Wolfe Street to Close Due to Sinkhole

Motorists should use alternate routes for the Wednesday morning commute

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of N. Wolfe Street will soon close this evening due to a sinkhole in the roadway.

Starting at approximately 10:00 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, July 5, 2022, N. Wolfe Street will be closed to through traffic between North Avenue and E. Lafayette Avenue with detours in effect.  All southbound traffic along N. Wolfe Street will be detoured onto North Avenue and motorists should use the following alternate route:

  • Southbound N. Wolfe Street traffic will be detoured left on North Avenue, right on Chester Street, right on E. Lafayette Avenue and left back onto N. Wolfe Street.

It is unclear at this time when the roadway will be reopened to traffic.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should expect delays and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes.
