Heavy Volumes of Traffic Expected Downtown on Wednesday Evening

Motorists traveling in the downtown area should be prepared for possible congestion and delays

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that heavy traffic volumes are expected in downtown Baltimore on Wednesday evening, January 18, 2023 for the People’s Ball to celebrate the inauguration of Governor-Elect Wes Moore and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Aruna Miller. 

The event will be held downtown at the Baltimore Convention Center from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.  Heavy traffic volumes are possible in the downtown area on Wednesday afternoon/evening after 5:00 p.m. in the vicinity of the Baltimore Convention Center

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for traffic congestion and pedestrians in the area, and are encouraged to plan ahead for the evening commute on Wednesday by allowing additional travel time.
