The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend. Traffic Modifications for Weekend Activities
This Saturday, temporary road and lane closures will be in effect for various activities, including right of way cleaning, crane operations and special events.
On Saturday, February 10, 2024, the following road and lane closures will be implemented (times approximate):
- MD 295 northbound and southbound right lane closures between Hamburg Street and the city/county line 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (cleaning activities).
- Perring Parkway northbound and southbound right lane closures between Belvedere Avenue and McClean Boulevard 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (cleaning activities).
- Hilton Parkway northbound and southbound right lane closures between North Avenue and Hilton Street 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (cleaning activities).
- Monument Street closed between Constitution Street and Greenmount Avenue 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (crane operation).
- N. Lakewood Avenue closed between Orleans Street and Pulaski Highway 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (crane operation).
- S. Greene Street closed between Redwood Street and Lombard Street 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (crane operation).
- W. Baltimore Street lane closures between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Arch Street 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (crane operation).
- Brookfield Avenue closed between Whitelock Street and Chauncey Avenue 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (special event – Stokey’s Way Community Day).
- West side Charles Street (Washington Place) between Centre Street and Peabody Mews Alley 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (special event – Lunar New Year: Year of the Dragon).
- 900 block of Ellicott Drive closed 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (cleaning activities).
Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the 40 Hours Devotion Street Procession
On Sunday, temporary traffic modifications will be implemented for the 40 Hours Devotion Street Procession.
In preparation for the event, the following roads will be temporarily closed during the procession with detours and parking restrictions in effect on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from approximately 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. and will reopen to traffic once all participants have cleared the roadway (times approximate):
- W. Saratoga Street from Park Avenue to Cathedral Street
- Park Avenue from W. Saratoga Street to W. Mulberry Street
- W. Mulberry Street from Park Avenue to Cathedral Street
- Cathedral Street from W. Mulberry Street to W. Saratoga Street
Motorists should pay close attention to posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in prohibited areas. Vehicles parked in violation will be relocated to Fallsway and citizens with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311.
