Fells Point residents are encouraged to plan ahead and relocate vehicles from low-lying areas

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT) would like to advise motorists that severe storms are expected to pass through the Baltimore region starting early tomorrow morning, Monday, April 13, 2020.

The DOT is preparing for the storm by bringing in additional crews that are ready to respond if needed.  The severe storms and heavy winds could cause traffic signal outages at city intersections.  Motorists should be on the watch for malfunctioning traffic signals that may be in flash mode or not in operation.  Drivers approaching an intersection with malfunctioning signals should treat it as a four-way stop and proceed with extreme caution for everyone’s safety.

These potential severe storms could also cause flooding in low-lying areas.  Residents are strongly advised not to walk or drive through flooded areas.  Fells Point residents who have their vehicles parked in areas prone to flooding are strongly encouraged to relocate their cars as soon as possible.  The Fleet and Eden Garage (501 S. Eden Street) will be open from 6:00 p.m. this evening (April 12, 2020) until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow evening (April 13, 2020) so that residents can park their cars in the garage at no charge to avoid possible flooding in the area.  Residents are encouraged to move their vehicles to the Fleet and Eden garage this evening if possible.  Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis and vehicles must be moved out of the garage by 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13 to avoid any fees.
