Traffic Pattern Shift Along Fleet Street

Construction work continues as part of the Central Avenue Streetscape and Bridge Project

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a new traffic pattern will be implemented along a portion of Fleet Street in Harbor East.

As progress continues on the Central Avenue Streetscape and Bridge project, various traffic shifts and lane reductions will be implemented along Fleet Street in the vicinity of Central Avenue.  On Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7, 2020, all traffic along Fleet Street will be shifted to the opposite side of the roadway between Exeter and Eden Streets, weather permitting.  Once the traffic shift is implemented, motorists will utilize the newly paved roadway along the southern side of the street with one lane of through traffic in each direction being maintained during construction.

In addition, one lane of through traffic will be opened along Central Avenue between Fleet and Aliceanna Streets once the Fleet Street traffic pattern shift is implemented.

These traffic pattern changes could cause delays and commuters are encouraged to use alternate routes.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and should pay close attention to posted parking restrictions in this area.
