Maryland Greek Independence Day Parade

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the road closures in effect for the Maryland Greek Independence Day parade which will be held on Sunday, April 02, 2017 starting at 2:00 p.m. 

The parade begins at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Haven Street and proceeds east on Eastern Avenue and south on Ponca Street.  The parade will disband two blocks past the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at Fait Avenue.

Parade participants will begin forming at 11:00 a.m. along Eastern Avenue in the vicinity of the Eastern Avenue underpass between Haven and Lehigh Streets.  In preparation for the event, the following roadways will be closed on Sunday, April 02, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • Ponca Street from Eastern Avenue to Hudson Street
  • Eastern Avenue from Haven to Ponca Streets

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.  Please note that temporary traffic stops may be implemented in the vicinity of the parade for the safety of participants.
