Weekend Road Closures for August 03, 2018

Mayor’s Back to School Rally

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be in effect for the Mayor’s annual Back to School Rally which will be held on Saturday, August 04, 2018.  The rally will take place at the War Memorial Plaza in front of City Hall from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, August 04, 2018 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • Lexington Street between Guilford Avenue and Frederick Street
  • Holliday Street between Saratoga and Lexington Streets
  • Gay Street between Fayette and Saratoga Streets

In addition, lane closures will be implemented along the following streets on Saturday, August 04, 2018 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.:

  • Fayette Street (south side) from Gay to Holliday Streets
  • Gay Street (west side) from Fayette to Lexington Streets
  • Holliday Street (both sides) from Saratoga to Lexington Streets
  • Lexington Street (both sides) from Guilford Avenue to Gay Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Canton Summer Festival

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Canton Summer Festival.  The event will be held in Patterson Park from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In preparation for the festival, Linwood Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Eastern Avenue and Pratt Street on Saturday, August 04, 2018 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Cease Fire Parade

On Saturday, temporary road closures will be implemented for the Baltimore Cease Fire Parade.  The parade will form in the parking lot of Pimlico Race Course and kick off at 12:00 noon.  Participants will leave Pimlico and turn right on Belvedere Avenue, left onto Park Heights Avenue and right on Wylie Avenue to disband on the parking lot adjacent to McDonalds. 

In preparation for the event, the following roads will be closed on Saturday, August 04, 2018 from approximately 11:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. once the parade clears:

  • W. Belvedere Avenue between Pimlico Road and Park Heights Avenue
  • Park Heights Avenue between Belvedere Avenue and Cold Spring Lane

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Ramp Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This Saturday, temporary ramp closures will be implemented along a portion of the Jones Falls Expressway for tree trimming work.  On Saturday, August 04, 2018 the exit ramp from the southbound Jones Falls Expressway to east and westbound Cold Spring Lane will be closed to through traffic from about 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  In addition, the access ramp from westbound 29th Street to the northbound Jones Falls Expressway will also close temporarily during this time. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
