Traffic Modifications for the Fells Point Fun Festival

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the 52nd annual Fells Point Fun Festival which will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in historic Fells Point. 

In preparation for the event, the following roadways will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.:

  • Broadway between Aliceanna and Thames Streets
  • Thames Street between Caroline and Ann Streets
  • Ann Street between Lancaster and Thames Streets (partial closure at Ann and Aliceanna Streets)
  • Lancaster Street between Bond and Ann Streets
  • Bond Street between Lancaster and Thames Streets

Patrons attending the event are strongly encouraged to use public transportation and avoid parking in local neighborhoods.  Motorists should pay close attention to posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in prohibited areas.  Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced throughout the duration of the festival for everyone’s safety.  Vehicles parked in violation will be relocated and citizens with questions concerning the location of their vehicle should call 311.

Motorists should be on the watch for pedestrians while traveling in this vicinity and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Traffic Modifications for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk which will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 starting at 9:00 a.m. 

The walk begins at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg YMCA located at Stadium Place and will proceed west on E. 33rd Street, right on Ellerslie Avenue, right on E. 36th Street, right on Ednor Road, and left on E. 35th Street.   Participants will then turn right on Hillen Road and left to Lake Montebello to loop around the lake and  exit on E. 33rd Street.  Walkers will turn right onto Ednor Road and left on Lakeside Avenue to finish at the YMCA parking lot.

During the event, one lane of traffic will be coned off for participants wherever possible along the walk route.  In addition, commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented along the walk route for the safety of participants

The following streets will be blocked or temporarily interrupted during the event from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

  • 33rd Street from Ellerslie Avenue to Hillen Road (Westbound)
  • Ellerslie Avenue from 33rd to 36th Streets (Northbound)
  • 36th Street from Ellerslie Avenue to Ednor Road (Eastbound)
  • Ednor Road from 33rd to 36th Streets (Both North and South)
  • 35th Street from Ednor Road to Hillen Road (Eastbound)
  • Hillen Road from Argonne Drive to 33rd Street (Southbound)
  • Loch Raven from 33rd to 35th Streets (Both North and South)
  • The Alameda from 33rd to 35th Streets (Both North and South)

Motorists traveling in this vicinity may experience delays and should be on the watch for pedestrians.

 

Calvert Street Crane Operation

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Calvert Street for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, October 13, 2018, a triple lane closure will be implemented along Calvert Street between Lombard and Baltimore Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Market Place Crane Operation

On Saturday, a portion of Market Place will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, October 13, 2018, southbound Market Place will be closed to through traffic between Lombard and Pratt Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Redwood Street Crane Operation

On Saturday, a portion of Redwood Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, October 13, 2018, Redwood Street will be closed to through traffic between Paca and Eutaw Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Lane Closures Along I-295

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along I-295 for maintenance work.  On Saturday, October 13, 2018, right lane closures will be implemented along both northbound and southbound I-295 between Bush Street and the county lines from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
