Portion of Washington Boulevard to Temporarily Close Starting Monday, April 19th for Work on Railroad Crossing

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of Washington Boulevard will temporarily close for work on area railroad crossings.

Starting at approximately 7:00 a.m. on or about Monday, April 19, 2021, Washington Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Monroe Street and Desoto Road with detours in effect, weather permitting.  This portion of Washington Boulevard will remain closed to traffic for approximately one week.  Local access will be maintained during this time for area businesses and residents.

Signs have been placed in the area to alert motorists of the closure.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Suggested detour:

Southbound Washington Boulevard traffic will be detoured right on Monroe Street, left onto Wilkens Avenue, left on Desoto Road, then back to Washington Boulevard.

Northbound Washington Boulevard traffic will be detoured left on Desoto Road, right on Wilkens Avenue, right on Monroe Street, then back to Washington Boulevard.
