Weekend Road Closures for April 22-24, 2022

Weekend Closure of Ramp from Southbound I-95 to Southbound MD 295

Weekend ramp closures will continue into Summer 2022

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that weekend closures of the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 will occur for ongoing work related to the Maryland Transportation Authority’s deck rehabilitation and joint modifications project on eight bridges along I-95 in Baltimore City.

This weekend, the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 (Exit 52) will be temporarily closed to through traffic starting at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022 with detours in effect.  In addition, the ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 will also close during this time. 

These ramp closures will be implemented on weekends into August, 2022, except on weekends when the Baltimore Orioles have scheduled home games

Suggested Detours:

The detour for closure of the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 will direct motorists to I-695 (Exit 49A), to southbound MD 295 (Exit 7A). This detour can be followed for access to Westport and MD 648.

The detour for closure of the ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 will direct motorists to turn right onto E. McComas Street, then to the E. McComas Street on-ramp to southbound I-95.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Holy Easter Procession and Assembly

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented in the vicinity of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation on Preston Street for the Holy Easter Procession and Assembly.

On Friday, April 22, 2022, Preston Street will be closed to through traffic between Maryland Avenue and Cathedral Street from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  In addition, one lane of traffic will be closed along the following streets around the cathedral during this time for the procession including Cathedral Street, Mt. Royal Avenue, and Maryland Avenue.

Preston Street will also close again between Maryland Avenue and Cathedral Street on Saturday, April 23, 2022 starting at 6:00 p.m. and will remain closed until 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway for street lighting work and cleaning activities.

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Northern Parkway and the county line from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Then on Sunday, April 24, 2022, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along both the northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway between Fayette Street and the county line from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures Along Hilton Parkway

This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Hilton Parkway for cleaning activities.

On Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, 2022, temporary lane closures will be implemented along both northbound and southbound Hilton Parkway between Edmondson Avenue and North Avenue from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

N. Eutaw Street Overnight Closures

This weekend, a portion of N. Eutaw Street will close overnight for BGE utility repairs.  

On Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24, 2022, N. Eutaw Street will close overnight to through traffic between W. Mulberry and W. Saratoga Streets from approximately 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night with detours in effect, weather permitting.

W. Mt. Vernon Place Closure

This Saturday, a portion of W. Mt. Vernon Place will close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, W. Mt. Vernon Place will be closed to through traffic between Cathedral Street and Washington Place from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with detours in effect, weather permitting.

N. Ann Street Closure

This Saturday, a portion of N. Ann Street will close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, N. Ann Street will be closed to through traffic between Fayette and Lamley Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours in effect, weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, April 24, 2022 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Girls on the Run 5K

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Girls on the Run 5K which will be held in Druid Hill Park.

The race kicks off at 9:00 a.m. from the Mansion House lawn, and the entire course will be run inside Druid Hill Park.  In preparation for the event, a running lane will be coned off for participants along the race route inside the park on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with parking restrictions in effect.

Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of participants.  Citizens traveling in this vicinity should expect delays and use alternate routes during the event.
