Weekend Road Closures for August 5-7, 2022

Traffic Modifications for the Moonrise Festival at Pimlico Race Course

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary traffic modifications will be implemented for the Moonrise Festival which will be held on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Pimlico Race Course.  

In preparation for the event, the following road closures and special traffic patterns will be implemented:

Thursday, August 4, 2022 starting at 6:00 p.m. until Monday, August 8, 2022 at 6:00 a.m.:

  • Rogers Avenue – Closed from Winner Avenue to W. Northern Parkway
  • Bland Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Key Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Woodcrest Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Merville Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Stuart Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue

Saturday, August 6, 2022 starting at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, August 8, 2022 at 2:00 a.m.:

  • Rogers Avenue – One-way traffic westbound from Winner Avenue to Park Heights Avenue
  • Winner Avenue – One-way traffic northbound from Hayward Avenue to W. Northern Parkway
  • Hayward Avenue – One-way traffic eastbound from Park Heights Avenue to Winner Avenue
  • Eastbound Northern Parkway right lane closure from Winner Avenue to Pimlico Road
  • Pimlico Road will be restricted to properly credentialed staff from Belvedere Avenue to Northern Parkway

Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. each day:

  • Southbound Jones Falls Expressway exit ramp to eastbound W. Northern Parkway will be closed.  Motorists will be redirected to the Cold Spring Lane exits.
  • Cylburn Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Greenspring Avenue

Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. each day:

  • Pimlico Road – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Ken Oak Avenue

Patrons attending the festival are strongly urged to carpool or use public transportation.  Motorists that choose to drive to Pimlico Race Course should park at commercial lots and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  All posted parking restrictions will be strictly enforced and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed

Vehicles that are relocated during the event will be taken to Cylburn Avenue just south of Northern Parkway.  Motorists with questions concerning the location of their vehicle should call 311.

Motorists traveling in northwest Baltimore this weekend may experience delays throughout the day/night and should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns while driving.

 

Traffic Modifications for Weekend Baltimore Orioles Home Games

This weekend, temporary traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Orioles home games which will be held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Motorists should be advised that all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced in the vicinity of the stadium during each game.  Patrons who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.  With a variety of transit options including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Park and Ride express bus services, and the Charm City Circulator, fans can easily use mass transit from numerous locations in and around Baltimore to get to the stadium. 

Baseball fans that drive to the games should utilize commercial parking facilities north of the stadium and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  Transportation Enforcement Officers will enforce all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium.  Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Patrons with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311. 

In preparation for Friday’s game, the following streets will be closed on Friday, August 5, 2022 starting at approximately 4:00 p.m.:

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets
  • Washington Boulevard from Paca to Greene Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, August 5, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m.:

  • East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets

The road closures and parking restrictions listed above will also be implemented on Saturday, August 6, 2022 starting at approximately 2:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 7, 2022 starting at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.

 

Casey Cares Foundation 5K Run/1-Mile Walk at the Maryland Zoo in Druid Hill Park

This Saturday, a temporary lane closure will be implemented in Druid Hill Park for the Casey Cares Foundation 5K Run/1-Mile Walk at the Maryland Zoo.

In preparation for the event on Saturday, August 6, 2022, a temporary lane closure will be implemented along East Drive between Red Road and Pool Service Drive from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Fayette Street Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of Fayette Street will be closed for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, August 6, 2022, Fayette Street will be closed to through traffic between Holliday Street and Guilford Avenue from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, August 7, 2022 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
