Weekend Road Closures for Friday, December 8 Through Sunday, December 10, 2023

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend.  Please download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.  All activities are weather permitting and BCDOT is not responsible for providing status updates.

 

Traffic Modifications for Charm City Lights

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the Charm City Lights display at Druid Hill Park. 

The event runs nightly through Monday, January 1, 2024.  On these days, Druid Hill Park will close to non-participants at 5:00 p.m.  Display attendees must enter the park near the Rawlings Conservatory entrance at Gwynns Falls Parkway and Beechwood Drive.  All other park entrances will be closed nightly through Monday, January 1, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each night:

  • Swann Drive closed at Druid Park Lake Drive
  • Sission Street and East Drive – Closed for inbound traffic into Druid Hill Park

Please note that all vehicles must vacate the park by 3:00 p.m. daily, except from the Rawlings Conservatory parking area, as cars will begin to be towed from the park at this time. Motorists should adhere to all posted parking restrictions to avoid being ticketed and towed. 

 

Traffic Modifications for Crane Operations & Cleaning Activities

This weekend, temporary road and lane closures will be in effect for crane operations and cleaning activities. 

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, the following road and lane closures will be implemented:

  • Monument Street closed between Constitution Avenue and Greenmount Avenue 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (crane operation).
  • Lexington Street closed between Charles and St. Paul Streets 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (crane operation).
  • Lombard Street bus lane closure between Light and Charles Street 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (crane operation)
  • Charles Street lane closures between Pratt and Redwood Streets 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (crane operation)
  • Northbound and southbound MD 295 right lane closures from Bush Street to the city/county line 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (cleaning activities)

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, the following lane closures will be implemented:

  • Northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway/I-83 left lane closures from Fayette Street to the city/county line 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (cleaning activities).

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which will be held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, December 10, 2023 the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Holliday Street closed from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
  • Hillen Street center lane closure at Fallsway

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Ravens Home Game at M&T Bank Stadium

On Sunday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Baltimore Ravens home game against the Los Angeles Rams which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium starting at 1:00 p.m.

In preparation for the game, the northbound Russell Street Service Drive, which runs alongside M&T Bank Stadium, will be closed to vehicular traffic between West and Hamburg Streets prior to and during the event. 

In addition, the following road closures will be implemented on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from approximately 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.:

  • Hamburg Street between Leadenhall and Paca Streets
  • Warner Street between Ostend and Worcester Streets
  • Ostend Street between Sharp and Warner Streets 
  • Bayard Street between Russell and Warner Street

Football fans attending the game should be advised that all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium will be strictly enforced for everyone’s safety.  Patrons choosing to drive to the stadium should park at commercial lots and avoid area neighborhoodsFans that do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation including the Charm City Circulator.  

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be deployed to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the stadium should be on the watch for heavy pedestrian/vehicular traffic and possible traffic pattern changes throughout the afternoon.

 

Lane Closures for CFG Bank Arena Event

This Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented in the vicinity of the CFG Bank Arena for an arena event.

The following lane closures will be implemented on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from approximately 8:00 p.m. until 11:59 p.m.:

  • Left lane of Howard Street, from Camden Street to Pratt Street
  • Left lane of Pratt Street from Eutaw Street to Howard Street 
  • Right lane of Lombard Street from Hopkins Plaza to Howard Street 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
