Traffic Modifications for the Charles Street 12 Footrace This Saturday, September 7th

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary traffic modifications that will be in effect for the Charles Street 12 Footrace which will be held this Saturday, September 7, 2024

The race will kick off at 7:30 a.m. in Baltimore County along Kenilworth Drive in Towson and end in Baltimore City along Key Highway in Locust Point.  Participants will race through Towson and enter the city on N. Charles Street from Stevenson Lane at approximately 8:15 a.m.  The race will proceed south along N. Charles Street, left onto Lee Street, right on Light Street, left on Key Highway, and left on the Key Highway extension to finish at Tide Point in front of the Under Armour facility.  Race participants are expected to complete the course by approximately 10:30 a.m.

In preparation for the event on Saturday, September 7, 2024, one lane of traffic will be coned off for runners along the race route wherever possible with parking restrictions in effect.  Citizens should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants.

These traffic stops will cause traffic congestion and delays, so motorists are urged to plan for the event by modifying travel times on Saturday morning and using alternate routes away from the race route.  Motorists should also allow additional travel time and be on the watch for pedestrians and traffic control personnel.

The Waze.com app can be downloaded for live detour navigation during the event.
