REVISED Weekend Road Closures for July 13, 2018

REVISED Traffic Modifications for the Casey Cares Foundation 5K Run

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be in effect for the Casey Cares Foundation 5K Run and Walk which will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018.  The 5K run will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The event will begin on Lee Street near the exit ramp from I-395.  Participants will head east on Conway Street, right on Light Street, and left on Key Highway where they will turn around at Cross Street.   Runners will travel west on Key Highway and turn left on Battery Avenue, right on Montgomery Street and left on Hanover Street.  Participants will then turn right on Hamburg Street, cross over the bridge and turn right between the two stadiums, left on Lee Street, and right on the service drive to the tunnel entrance for Oriole Park at Camden Yards. 

In preparation for the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants wherever possible along the race route.  In addition, Key Highway will be closed at Lawrence Street (local access permitted).  Westbound traffic will be detoured onto Fort Avenue.

Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Caribbean Festival and Parade

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Caribbean Festival and Parade.  

The Caribbean Parade will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 beginning at 1:00 p.m.  The parade begins in the 1100 block of E. 33rd Street and will proceed east on 33rd Street, right on The Alameda, and across Harford Road to enter Clifton Park via St. Lo Drive. 

In preparation for the parade, the following streets will be closed on Saturday, July 14, 2018 with parking restrictions in effect:

  • Eastbound E. 33rd Street between Ellerslie and Ednor Avenues from 10:30 a.m. until clear.  One lane of traffic will remain open during parade formation.
  • Eastbound E. 33rd Street between Ellerslie Avenue and The Alameda from 12:45 p.m. until clear
  • Southbound The Alameda between E. 33rd Street and Harford Road from 12:45 p.m. until clear

All streets along the parade route will be reopened by 5:00 p.m.

In addition to the parade, the Caribbean Festival will be held in Clifton Park on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15, 2018.  In preparation for the festival, St. Lo Drive will be closed to through traffic between Indian Lane and Sinclair Lane on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. each day with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures Along I-295

This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of I-295 for landscaping work.  On Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15, 2018, single left lane closures will be implemented along both northbound and southbound I-295 between Bush Street and the county line from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Wolfe Street Crane Lift

This Saturday, a portion of Wolfe Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, July 14, 2018, Wolfe Street will be closed to through traffic between Ashland Avenue and Madison Street from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Calvert Street Crane Lift

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Calvert Street for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, July 14, 2018, a triple lane closure will be implemented along Calvert Street between Redwood and Baltimore Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  One lane of through traffic will remain open along Calvert Street for motorists during this time. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
