Weekend Road Closures for December 17-19, 2021

Traffic Modifications for the Celtic Solstice Five Miler

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be implemented this Saturday, December 18, 2021 for the Celtic Solstice Five Miler.  The event will be held in Druid Hill Park from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The race begins at the intersection of Greenspring Avenue and Beechwood Drive near the Maryland Zoo.  Participants will head east on Beechwood, left on Swann Drive past the 3-way intersection at the Mansion House to continue on East Drive. Participants will turn left onto the service road at the end of the swimming pool, right on Red Road to enter "The Bowl” and run around the ball fields, then right onto Shop Road. The course proceeds right on Red Road, right on East Drive, right on the Mansion House loop, right on Swann Drive, and right on Beechwood to finish in the vicinity of the Memorial Oak Grove after you pass the Maryland Zoo parking lots.

During this event, temporary road closures, lane closures and/or traffic stops may be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures Along Ponca Street

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Ponca Street for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, December 18, 2021, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Ponca Street between Boston Street and Holabird Avenue from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect, weather permitting.  One lane of through traffic will remain open in each direction during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Wilson Street Closure

This Saturday, a portion of Wilson Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, December 18, 2021, Wilson Street will be closed between Eutaw Place and Bolton Street from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect, weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, December 19, 2021 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for Sunday’s Ravens Game at M&T Bank Stadium

On Sunday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Baltimore Ravens football game against the Green Bay Packers which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium beginning at 4:25 p.m. 

In preparation for the game, the following roadways will be closed to through traffic at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021:

  • Northbound Russell Street Service Drive (which runs alongside M&T Bank Stadium) between West and W. Hamburg Streets
  • W. Ostend Street Bridge between Warner and Sharp Streets
  • W. Hamburg Street between Russell and Leadenhall Streets
  • Hamburg Street west of Russell Street

In addition, various parking restrictions will be implemented in the vicinity of the stadium.  Fans attending the game should be advised that all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced for everyone’s safety.  Patrons choosing to drive to the stadium should park at commercial lots and avoid area neighborhoods.  Vehicles parked in violation are subject to being ticketed and towed.  Fans that do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation including the Metro SubwayLink, Light RailLink or the Charm City Circulator.  

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for heavy pedestrian/vehicular traffic and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
