Traffic Modifications for Weekend Baltimore Orioles Home Games

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Orioles home games which will be held this weekend at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Motorists should be advised that all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced in the vicinity of the stadium during each game.  Patrons who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.  With a variety of transit options including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Park and Ride express bus services, and the Charm City Circulator, fans can easily use mass transit from numerous locations in and around Baltimore. 

Baseball fans that drive to the games should utilize commercial parking facilities north of the stadium and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  Transportation Enforcement Officers will enforce all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium.  Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Patrons with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311. 

In preparation for Friday’s game, the following streets will be closed on Friday, May 6, 2022 starting at approximately 4:00 p.m.:

• Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
• Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
• Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets
• Washington Boulevard from Paca to Greene Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, May 6, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m.:

• East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
• East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
• North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets

The road closures and parking restrictions listed above will also be implemented on Saturday, May 7, 2022 starting at approximately 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 8, 2022 starting at approximately 10:00 a.m.

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.

Weekend Lane Closures Along a Portion of Calvert Street

This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Calvert Street for a crane lift operation.

Starting this evening, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Calvert Street between Saratoga and Pleasant Streets on the following dates and times, weather permitting:

• Friday, May 6th from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight
• Saturday, May 7th from 7:00 p.m. to Sunday, May 8^th at 5:00 a.m.
• Sunday, May 8th from 7:00 p.m. to Monday, May 9^th at 5:00 a.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

Traffic Modifications for the Kinetic Sculpture Race

On Saturday, May 07, 2022, traffic modifications will be implemented for the 2022 Kinetic Sculpture Race.  The race will begin and end at the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) on Covington Street and kicks off at 9:30 a.m.  Participants will run the 15-mile course through the Inner Harbor and surrounding neighborhoods at the approximate times listed below:

• 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.  Safety check and brake test at American Visionary Art Museum
• 9:30 – 10:00 Opening Ceremonies & start from AVAM onto Key Highway
• 10:03 – 10:20 Climb Battery Avenue into Federal Hill Park
• 10:15 – 11:30 Race down Riverside, Fort, Lawrence, Key Highway, around the Inner Harbor, down President Street to Katyn Circle to Aliceanna & Boston Street
• 11:15 – 1:00 p.m.  Water entry at Canton Waterfront Park
• 1:00 – 1:30 Race up Kenwood, right on Eastern, left on Linwood and into Patterson Park
• 1:15 – 3:15 Patterson Park Obstacle Course
• 3:30 – 4:45 Race down Lombard, Central, Eastern, Pier 5, Pratt, Light, Key Highway, Lawrence, Fort, Jackson, Clement and Covington to the finish line at AVAM (rapid racers may finish as early as 3:30)
• 4:00 – 6:00 Post-Race Recovery (dinner for racers & volunteers)
• 6:00 – 7:00 Awards Ceremony at AVAM

During the event, Covington Street will be closed to through traffic between Key Highway and Cross Street from approximately 5:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect.  In addition, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants wherever possible along the race route.

Motorists traveling in these areas should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.  Drivers should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

W. Fayette Street Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of W. Fayette Street will close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, W. Fayette Street will be closed to through traffic between Greene and Arch Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours in effect, weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

W. Redwood Street Temporary Closure

This Saturday, a portion of W. Redwood Street will close for a crane lift operation.

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, W. Redwood Street will be closed to through traffic between Paca and Eutaw Streets from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with detours in effect, weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

On Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, May 8, 2022 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

• Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
• Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
• Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

On Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway this weekend for street cleaning activities.

On Sunday, May 8, 2022, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along the northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway between Fayette Street and the county line from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.
