Weekend Road Closures for Friday, October 6 Through Sunday, October 8, 2023

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend.  Please download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.  All activities are weather permitting and BCDOT is not responsible for providing status updates.


Traffic Modifications for Weekend Baltimore Orioles AL East Playoff Games

This weekend, temporary traffic modifications will be in effect for Baltimore Orioles AL East playoff games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

In preparation for the first playoff game on Saturday, the following streets will be closed on Saturday, October 7, 2023 starting at approximately 10:00 a.m.:

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets
  • Howard Street from Pratt to Conway Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Saturday, October 7, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m.:

  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets
  • East side of Greene Street, from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • North side of Pratt Street, from Greene Street to Paca Street

The road closures and parking restrictions listed above will also be implemented on Sunday, October 8th at approximately 1:00 p.m. 

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the stadium should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks. 

 

Road Closures for the Greek Food, Wine and Culture Festival

This weekend, a temporary road closure and parking restrictions will be implemented for the Greek Food, Wine and Culture Festival that will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation along W. Preston Street.   

In preparation for the event, the following road will be closed to through traffic starting at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 through 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • W. Preston Street closed from Maryland Avenue to Cathedral Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Road Closures for the Italian Heritage Festival in Little Italy

This weekend, road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the Italian Heritage Festival which will be held in Little Italy. 

In preparation for the event, the following roads will be closed to through traffic starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 through 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • S. Exeter Street closed from Pratt Street to Fawn Street
  • Stiles Street closed from S. Exeter Street to High Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Fells Point Fun Festival

This weekend, traffic modifications will be in effect for the 57th annual Fells Point Fun Festival which will be held on Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8, 2023 in historic Fells Point. 

In preparation for the event, the following roadways will be closed to through traffic from 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • Thames Street between Point and Wolfe Streets
  • Broadway between Aliceanna and Thames Streets
  • Ann Street between Lancaster and Thames Streets (partial closure at Ann and Aliceanna Streets for local access)
  • Bond Street between Lancaster and Thames Streets
  • Lancaster Street between Bond Street and Ann Street
  • Shakespeare Street between Bond Street and Broadway
  • Fells Street between Thames Street and 908 Fells Street

Patrons attending the event are strongly encouraged to use public transportation and avoid parking in local neighborhoods.  Motorists should pay close attention to posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in prohibited areas.  Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced throughout the duration of the festival and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Citizens with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311.

Motorists should be on the watch for pedestrians while traveling in this vicinity and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Road Closures for the International Edgar Allan Poe Festival and Awards

This weekend, road closures will be in effect for the International Edgar Allan Poe Festival and Awards which will be held at the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum.

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic starting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6th through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • N. Amity Street closed from W. Saratoga Street to W. Lexington Street
  • W. Lexington Street closed from Poppleton Street to N. Schroeder Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Road Closures for the Fiesta Baltimore Festival and Parade

This weekend, road closures will be in effect for the Fiesta Baltimore Festival and Parade which will be held in Patterson Park.

The parade will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 and will kick off from the intersection of Grundy Street and Eastern Avenue at 2:00 p.m.  Participants will head west on Eastern Avenue and turn right onto Linwood Avenue to disband.

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • S. Linwood Avenue from Eastern Avenue to E. Pratt Street - closed Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day.
  • Eastern Avenue from Grundy Street to S. Linwood Avenue - closed Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Grundy Street from Fleet to Gough Streets - closed Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

During the parade, temporary traffic stops may be implemented for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Road Closures for the Bolton Hill Festival on the Hill

This Saturday, road closures will be in effect for the Bolton Hill Festival on the Hill event. 

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • Bolton Street closed from Lafayette Street to Lanvale Street
  • Lanvale Street closed from Mason Street to Park Avenue

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Road Closures for the Baltimore Taco Festival

This Saturday, road closures will be in effect for the Baltimore Taco Festival which will be held at Power Plant Live!

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • Water Street closed from Frederick Street to Market Place
  • Market Place closed from Water Street to Lombard Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Billy Joel / Stevie Nicks Concert at M&T Bank Stadium

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks concert which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium starting at 7:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the event, the northbound Russell Street Service Drive, which runs alongside M&T Bank Stadium, will be closed to vehicular traffic between West and Hamburg Streets prior to and during the event. 

In addition, the following road closures will be implemented on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from approximately 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. – 11:59 p.m.:

  • Hamburg Street between Leadenhall and Paca Streets
  • Warner Street between Ostend and Worcester Streets
  • Ostend Street between Sharp and Warner Streets 
  • Bayard Street between Russell and Warner Street

Fans attending the concert should be advised that all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium will be strictly enforced for everyone’s safety.  Patrons choosing to drive to the stadium should park at commercial lots and avoid area neighborhoodsFans that do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation including the Light Rail, Metro Subway, Local Bus or the Charm City Circulator.  

The Department of Transportation will deploy Transportation Enforcement Officers to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the stadium should be on the watch for heavy pedestrian/vehicular traffic and possible traffic pattern changes throughout the afternoon/evening.

 

Lane Closures Along the Franklin-Mulberry Expressway / I-70 for Cleaning Activities

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along the Franklin-Mulberry Expressway / I-70 for cleaning activities.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, right lane closures will be implemented along the eastbound and westbound Franklin-Mulberry Expressway / I-70 between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Payson Street from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which will be held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, October 8, 2023 the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Holliday Street closed from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
  • Hillen Street center lane closure at Fallsway

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Race for Our Kids

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the 19th annual Race for Our Kids which will be held at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.

The 10K race kicks off along Beechwood Drive at 8:00 a.m.  Runners will follow Beechwood Drive to the end, turn left on Swann Drive, and left on Mansion House Drive to turn around clockwise around triangle island.  The course proceeds back along Mansion House Drive and left on East Drive to cross over I-83 onto Wyman Park Drive.  Runners will turn right on Sisson Street, left on W. 26th Street, right on Huntingdon Avenue, left on N. Howard Street and left on Wyman Park Drive (crossing I-83) onto East Drive.  Participants will turn right on Pool Service Drive, right on Red Road, right on Shop Road (until it becomes Grove Road), right on Red Road, right on East Drive, left on Swann Drive, and right on Beechwood Drive to the finish line.   

In preparation for the race, the following street will be closed on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with parking restrictions and detours in effect:

  • Beechwood Drive closed from Safari Place to Swann Drive

In addition, one lane of travel will be coned off along the race route where possible for the safety of participants.  Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of participants.  Baltimore City Police and Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed along the race route to help facilitate the movement of traffic.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
