Micromobility Committee
The Micromobility Committee (formerly the Dockless Vehicle Committee or DVC) is a public meeting and email listserv for tracking new micromobility, including e-scooters, e-bikes, and personal delivery devices (PDD). Program data, progress, and policies are presented publicly via monthly emails and quarterly meetings. This committee will meet quarterly starting in 2022 and is open to the public. Topics discussed include:
- Reviewing data and presenting data requests about micromobility
- Updates from Dockless Vehicle Permit Holders (i.e. Link, Spin)
- Updates on DOT Program support
- Discussing policy decisions and soliciting feedback on program issues
Program Updates
Dockless Vehicles for Hire Permit Application
BCDOT is looking to permit an additional dockless vehicle company in Baltimore. One permit will be awarded to Spin whose permit will be renewed based on compliance and community rankings. Permit applications for the remaining permit will be accepted through May 29, 2024. The awarded permits will become active on July 1, 2024 and expire in one year, with the possibility of extension.
The application and more details about the application process will be posted to the Dockless Vehicle Program website on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
Dockless Vehicle Program 2024 Rules & Regulations
The Rules & Regulations will be available for public comment on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 through June 15, 2024. The revisions to the 2024 regulations were discussed during the last Micromobility Committee Meeting (April 2024).
