TIGER
The City of Baltimore is submitting an application for the 2015 round of U.S. Department of Transportation funding under the TIGER VII Discretionary Grant. The Southeast Baltimore Port Industry Freight Corridor Plan: Promoting Economic and Community Development in a Maritime Industrial Setting is a $27.5 Million project that will restore functionality to a vital freight network, connecting the Port of Baltimore to regional and national highway systems. Additionally, this critical infrastructure improvement project will help preserve and enhance the economic security of the port and industrial industries, while also enhancing community quality of life for adjacent neighborhoods.

Broening Highway Corridor Improvement Project
The Broening Highway Corridor Improvement Project is designed to promote job creation, provide access to opportunity, and support existing communities around the Port of Baltimore, increasing the region’s economic competitiveness and the quality of life of its citizens. The project will improve and enhance existing multi-modal assets, facilitate efficient freight movement out of the Dundalk Marine Terminal and Seagirt Marine Terminal, expand truck access to the interstate system, and protect existing and planned residential communities currently impacted by freight movement.

Hanover Street Bridge Multimodal Corridor Plan
The Hanover Street Bridge Multimodal Corridor Plan will leverage recent investments in development, infrastructure, and area communities to establish a foundation for future growth within South Baltimore. An upgraded and enhanced Hanover Street Bridge improves accessibility for local and regional motorists including freight access to and from Baltimore’s ports; provides surrounding communities with a safe and reliable connection to key quality of life resources; improves connectivity between existing transit services including MTA bus, Light Rail, Charm City Circulator and Water Taxi Landings; and establishes a critical link between existing and planned bicycle pedestrian trail systems.
